Richey's ex tells of split

The ex-wife of Kenny Richey has told how their attempt to rekindle their relationship after his release from Death Row went sour.

American Wendy Richey married the Scot in 1984 after a whirlwind romance, but they divorced amicably two years later. Three months later Richey was charged over the death of toddler Cynthia Collins.

Ms Richey, who lives in Minnesota, said: "I was prepared to give him a second chance. It was romantic to think we could make a go of things after everything that had happened."

But she said he drank heavily, suffered from mood swings and had an online affair. She now has an order preventing him from approaching her.
