Reykjavik books its literary place

THE capital of Iceland has been designated the fifth Unesco City of Literature.

Reykjavik joins Edinburgh - the world's first Unesco City of Literature - Melbourne, Iowa City and Dublin.

There are now five Unesco designated Cities of Literature.

Edinburgh worked closely with Reykjavik as it developed its bid, and particularly with Audur Ran Porgeirsdottir, who previously worked at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
