Review into roads mess

A REVIEW is to be carried out into the state of the road network after a scathing report found a £2.25 billion backlog of repairs.

Transport Minister Keith Brown said he had accepted the recommendations made in the Audit Scotland report, which was published last week.

He said: "The report highlighted some of the considerable challenges faced in maintaining our road networks in the face of increasingtraffic levels, the recent very severe winters and in the face of Westminster-imposed cuts to the Scottish budget."
