Restaurant guide written with babies in mind

A RESPECTED restaurant guide has launched an edition for parents after a survey found almost a third of people with youngsters in tow have been turned away from an establishment.

The first Harden's Eating Out With Babies And Toddlers follows a survey which revealed that 92 per cent of parents had struggled to find a baby- or toddler-friendly restaurant, and 31 per cent had been snubbed by a restaurant or cafe while with their young family.

Other problems regularly encountered included a lack of entertainment in restaurants for babies and toddlers (91 per cent), a lack of baby-changing facilities (85 per cent) and no high chairs (76 per cent).

The guide names Giraffe as the UK's most baby-friendly restaurant chain, and, surprisingly, the elegant London celebrity haunt The Wolseley as the most baby-friendly independent restaurant.

It lists more than 1,000 venues and is based on feedback from 8,000 restaurant-going parents.
