Restaurant bid back on

A MEMBER of one of the Capital's top food families is relaunching his bid to transform a disused Slateford shop into a restaurant.

Vincent Crolla, 55, was refused permission to transform the unit at the corner of Slateford Road and Merchiston Grove after councillors ruled that it did not have enough ventilation for a gas cooker.

Despite fears that an extractor might cause a smell, Mr Crolla has now pressed on with plans to install a flue.
