One of the Falkirk area’s most well known and respected businessmen has died after a long fight against cancer.

Harry Dhillon, Four In One takeaway chain founder, passed away aged 58 in Strathcarron Hospice on October 8.

Amrit Dhillon, one of Harry’s four children, said: “Dad always said his work was for his kids and constantly inspired and encouraged us, showering us with affection and congratulating even our smallest achievements.

“My dad was a great man.”

Born in Northern India in 1957, Rana Harkirat Singh Dhillon came to the UK in the late 1970s, marrying wife Bal in 1979. He founded the Four In One in 1986, bringing unrivalled choice of cuisine to the area.

Harry supported local causes, including Grangemouth Children’s Day, throughout his life. Greatly affected by the horror of 9/11, he donated three month’s salary and customer collections totalling £12,000 to the Twin Towers Fund in 2002.

In his final days he told his family to make a donation to Strathcarron Hospice because they had looked after him with such compassion.

Harry was laid to rest at Daldowie Crematorium last Wednesday.
