Residents flee as fire fills flats with smoke

DOZENS of people had to be led to safety in sub-zero temperatures after a rubbish fire filled their block of flats with fumes.

About 40 residents at Salamander Court in Leith, were led out by fire crews after a blaze in the building's bin room in the early hours of yesterday.
