Using ‘phone find’ technology - where the police and the team can send a text to the person’s phone and find their position - the team was able to locate the casualty.

A team was sent to the person, with a shelter and drugs to control the pain.

Another team assembled the stretcher and wheel, and started the ascent.

The walker was packaged into the casualty bag, and wheeled back to the mountain rescue ambulance at Corehead.

The team met an ambulance at Ericstane farm for onward transport to hospital.

The mountain rescue team is funded mostly by public donations
