Rescue dog gets new leash of life after eye operation
Coal, a four-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was handed in to Dogs Trust West Calder rehoming centre three months ago after his owner passed away.
The poorly pooch was suffering from bilateral cataracts, leaving him blind in both eyes.

Coal, who was previously overlooked because of his sight problems, is now settling in to a new home in Livingston with owner Vicky Park.
She said: “As I am registered disabled, I needed a dog that could work with me at home and out and about. The other day, whilst out a walk with him, I fell down and Coal went for assistance from a passer-by without instruction, whilst on an extending lead.
“He is a loving, sensitive and cuddly dog, and everyone who has met him falls in love.”
