Repairs to listed college

ASBESTOS is set to be removed from a historic college as part of a programme of repair work to the A-listed building.

Plans have been put forward to remove the deadly substance from Newbattle Abbey College, Scotland’s only residential adult college, in Dalkeith, Midlothian.

The plans submitted to Midlothian Council also call for gutters to be upgraded, the roof to be strengthened, and a wall to be rebuilt at the 16th century building.
