Repair hopes slipping away

AN AREA of cracked pavement which today clocked up 100 days in the Evening News' Get it Sorted column is unlikely to be repaired any time soon because it is a low priority.

The cracked paving in Almond Green, East Craigs was initially reported to the council in August last year by Sarah Noble, who feared elderly residents could trip on it.

The damaged pavement was again reported to the council 100 days ago by the News.

However, a council spokesman has now said that the roads team is currently dealing with more pressing cracks caused during the coldest winter in 30 years.
