Renfrewshire street attack: Four people arrested

Craig McSporran, 31, was found lying near his house when spotted by a passer-by in Linwood in the early hours of Monday.

He was spotted on the town’s Bridge Street with a 32-year-old friend, who is still being treated in hospital for serious injuries.

A woman aged 30 and a 25-year-old man have been arrested in connection with Mr McSporran’s death.

Police Scotland said two men aged, 22 and 23, have also been arrested in connection with allegedly attempting to pervert the course of justice.

They are expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

Mr McSporran and his friend were found at around 12.50am on Monday after the pair left a bar on Bridge Street around 20 minutes earlier.
