Remploy is working well

AN employment agency for disabled people has more than doubled the number of people it is helping into work.

Remploy helped 228 people in the Capital into work during the six months up to the end of September, compared to 97 during the same period last year.

Regional director Austin Hardie said: "These excellent figures are all the more remarkable when you consider the economic climate. They show that with the right support, training and preparation, people with disabilities can play a full role in society and enjoy the benefits that a job brings.

"We could not consistently achieve these results without the support and close relationships we have with Scottish employers who recognise the value to their business of employing people recruited through Remploy."
