Earlier in the week, police said his car had been found in Doune Road, Dunblane. It was the first time the car has been seen since last Thursday, when it was spotted on the A80 near Castlecary, North Lanarkshire.

Mr Lyon's family issued a statement yesterday thanking everyone involved in the moves to find him.
