Red light for green group

AN environmental group in Marchmont is set to be wound up after it failed to find a replacement for a key member who died three years ago.

Marchmont Action Group Promoting Initiatives for the Environment (Magpie) has been inactive since David Stay, the former secretary, died of cancer in September.

Marchmont & Sciennes and Merchiston Community Councils are set to continue Magpie's campiagning. A meeting to wind-up Magpie will be held on September 23 at the Meadows Croquet Club.
