Recycling target warning

TARGETS to cut the amount of rubbish sent to landfill are in danger of being missed, a report found today.

Audit Scotland set out the warning in an inquiry into air and water quality, biodiversity and waste management.

The report said Scottish recycling has increased but, at current rates, may not hit the 40 per cent target this year.
