Recycling firm to clean up

A COMPANY is to be brought in to extract recyclable materials that have been picked up by street cleaning machines.

Edinburgh council has advertised the contract, worth up to 440,000. It said the purpose was to collect more recyclable materials and reduce the amount of waste "destined for landfill disposal".

The contract will be awarded on grounds of cost and quality.
