Recruiting begins for retained firefighters

retained firefighters are being recruited for Bathgate in West Lothian.

Recruits will continue in their regular jobs, but carry a pager and be expected to rush to the fire station when needed. The role includes home safety visits and promoting fire safety.

Both men and women are invited to apply. They should have an excellent level of fitness, live within five minutes of Bathgate, and be able to provide at least 80 hours of cover per week. A retaining fee of £2116 -£2821 per year is payable, plus allowances for drill, turnout and attendance.
