Record year for fringe

THE Fringe has enjoyed another record-breaking year, with ticket sales up three per cent on last year, according to the organisers.

Figures released by the Fringe Society showed that 1,877,000 tickets were sold by its box office over the last three-and-a-half weeks, an increase on the record-breaking sales in 2010.

There had been concerns that poor weather during August and a greater concentration of venues in one part of the city could have affected ticket sales.
