Record £166m lottery jackpot rolls over

NO-ONE won the record £166 million jackpot in yesterday's EuroMillions draw.

Europe's biggest-ever lottery prize is now frozen and will be in place for the next draw on Tuesday.

Two UK tickets did scoop 3.3m each after matching five numbers and one lucky star.

A National Lottery spokesman said: "This is amazing - no-one won the jackpot, so there is still 166m waiting to be won next Tuesday.

"It was great that so many UK tickets banked big prizes on Friday, and that is likely to be repeated on Tuesday when any prize money rolls down to the next prize level."

The winning numbers in last night's main draw were 12, 13, 23, 40 and 49. The Lucky Star numbers were 7 and 10.

A single winner on Tuesday would be the equivalent of 418th on the Sunday Times Rich List, sitting alongside David and Victoria Beckham (165m) and Dragons' Den regular Theo Paphitis (170m).

The biggest lottery winner in the UK to date is an anonymous ticketholder who scooped a 113m prize last October.

On 22 August, 2009, a single ticket won Italy's SuperEnalotto jackpot, which stood at 147m (128m at the time).
