RBS is ready to bankroll city projects

COMMUNITY projects and charities are to benefit from a new fund set up by the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The RBS Community Fund offers 12 pots of 5,000, each of which will go to good causes in a different part of Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Bank customers and members of the community can put forward a cause or project and nominations will be judged by a panel of representatives from the bank, local people, and community figures.

For each fund, three projects will be chosen and the public will be invited to vote for their favourite. The most popular will receive 3000 and two runners-up will receive 1000 each.

Regional director for RBS in Edinburgh and Lothians, Denise Alexander, said: "We have a long and proud history of helping good causes and our Community Fund will bring this support to a new level. By asking local people to nominate and vote for the community charities/projects, the fund will be directly supporting the communities the bank serves."

To nominate causes, go to your local RBS or NatWest branch, or visit rbs.co.uk/communityfund.
