Rapunzel's hair-raising charity act

A MODEL dubbed Rapunzel because of her long flowing locks has chopped off her hair to have it turned into wigs for sick children.

Danielle McLeod has spent six years growing her hair to a staggering 26 inches long. But the brunette agreed to chop off her tresses and have them turned into wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer.

Ms McLeod, from Glasgow, was snapped up by a modelling agency after they spotted pictures of her online. She has spent the past two years travelling the UK and becoming the face of hair products and other items.

But Ms McLeod, who is training to become a teacher, offered her hair for a good cause and is donating it to cancer charity Little Princess Trust.

She explained: "I have been thinking about getting my hair cut shorter for a while, and I wanted to raise money for a good cause.

"Little Princess Trust supplies real hair wigs to children who have lost their own hair due to cancer or leukaemia, so I'm donating my hair to the charity and hoping to raise as much money as I can."
