Rangers administration: more Northern Irish fans to come to game

RANGERS fans’ leaders from Belfast say more supporters than usual will flock to Glasgow to get behind manager Ally McCoist and his players for today’s game against Kilmarnock.

Northern Ireland-based fans vowed their support of the team would be “stronger than ever”.

Alex Thomson, manager of Highfield Rangers Supporters’ Club, one of the most prominent in Belfast, said: “We have guys who don’t normally travel over to Ibrox every week going to head over for the Kilmarnock game to show as much support for Ally and the players as possible because they feel so strongly about it.

“I also know a lot of folk who are paying to go over even if they don’t have a ticket, to show their backing.

“They feel extremely strongly about this situation.”

Fans at the Sandy Row Rangers Supporters’ Club expressed dismay at the state of their side’s off-the-pitch affairs but stressed they would stand by their team.

Manager Warren Miller said: “We will never fold and there will always be a Glasgow Rangers as far as I am concerned.”
