Rail link work moving east

WORK on the £300 million Airdrie-Bathgate rail link is continuing with bridge improvements along the route.

The new route, which will be used by trains running between Edinburgh and Glasgow, is expected to be open by the end of the year.

Ron McAulay, Network Rail Director for Scotland, said: "With much of the structural activity now complete at the eastern end of the route, focus now moves to the western end of this major new rail link."
