Raiders burst into flat and threaten six at knifepoint

A PAIR of armed robbers burst into a city flat and held up six people at knifepoint.

The suspects, who both had knives, broke into the flat in Salamander Court, Leith, at around 9.30am on Sunday.

The six people sleeping in the flat were woken by the men, who then gathered them in the living room before punching one man in the face.

The men then searched the home and stole a three-figure sum of money, a laptop and several mobile phones, but while they were distracted, the victim who had been punched managed to scramble out of a window.

He then reported the incident at Leith police station.

The suspects are described as being white, in their mid-20s.

One was 5ft 9in, slim, with short dark hair, and wore a dark or grey-coloured top and jeans.

The other was 5ft 10in, stocky, with lighter hair, and wore grey joggers and a grey top.

A police spokesman said: "Although no-one was seriously injured, this will have been a terrifying ordeal.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have information regarding this incident to come forward.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time, and may have seen the two men, one of whom would have been carrying a laptop computer."
