Raider takes jewels

A THIEF made off with a five-figure sum of jewellery after breaking into a home in broad daylight.

The break-in was carried out in Glasgow Road in Bathgate, West Lothian between 11.45am and midday on Thursday.

The suspect is thought to be a man who was seen in the garden of the property at 11.45am when the owners were leaving. He asked if the owners wanted gardening work done but they refused as they left.

The suspect is white, in his early to mid 20s, 5ft 10in tall, of slim build with a gaunt face and short dark brown hair. He was wearing a yellow workman's jacket with blue jeans.
