RAF beauty vies for charity calendar slot

A HIGH-flying beauty is bidding to become the belle of the Lothians by posing in a money-spinning military calendar to aid wounded British servicemen.

RAF Corporal Melissa Charnock has her heart set on becoming Miss February in a Help for Heroes pin-up calendar and is the only Scottish nominee in the 26-strong field of army personnel vying for a slot.

To achieve her dream, the 25-year-old – based at RAF Cosford – is now canvassing for online votes at http://www.pinup forheroes.co.uk.

The Tranent mother-of-two, who has served her country for the last seven years, has a rich military heritage with both grandfathers, husband, step-dad and brother serving in the armed forces. Melissa is now urging all Lothian residents to back her calendar bid. Voting closes on Monday.
