Raeburn becomes place to be heard

A PUB is offering
unheralded songwriters the chance to have their work added to its playlist.

The Raeburn in Stockbridge has promised to only play original material.

Bosses said it would create a unique atmosphere in the Dean Street bar, which reopened last year, and give unsigned artists across the Lothians some exposure.

Manager Norval Barclay said: “We’ve decided only ever to play original music from unsigned musicians, and if they are local ones that’s all the better. Too often you go into pubs across the city and here the same old music all the time.

“This gives us a chance to have something a bit different, and allows some people to have their music heard when they might not otherwise get the chance.”

Those interested should contact the Raeburn, 50 Dean Street, Edinburgh EH4 1LQ, or e-mail [email protected].
