Purser composes lecture on literature links

The composer, musicologist, playwright and music historian, Dr John Purser will give this year's Tannahill Lecture at the National Library of Scotland on February 10.

The talk will be about the interplay between Scotland's music and literature. Dr Purser will include discussion of a case study based around The Battle of Harlaw, tying in with the 600th anniversary of the battle.

The event, which begins at 6pm, is supported by the Andrew Tannahill Fund, which was established at Glasgow University in 2006 for the furtherance of Scottish literature and language. It is also part of the City of Literature's Let's Get Lyrical campaign.
