Pure bargain as Boots No 7 range found in Poundland

SKINCARE costing up to £8 at Boots is selling for £1 in discount stores under new labels, consumers have claimed.

Customers who bought the bargains in Poundland and B&M peeled off the labels to discover Boots own label No7 and Botanics products.

The MoneySavingExpert (MSE) website investigated after consumers posted their findings on its online forum. It found that Poundland products carrying the Pure label were the most likely to be from Boots.

Most items found were either creams or bath products from Boots No7 or Botanics ranges.

One woman reported buying Pure Super Firming Body Cream in a Hartlepool Poundland and peeling off the label to find it was Boots No7 Fabulously Firming Body Cream. The product is now discontinued but formerly sold for about 8.

Other products sold under the Pure range were originally labelled as Botanics Body Glow Lotion, Botanics Day Moisture Lotion and Botanics Vitamin Recovery Mask.

MSE said many of the products seemed destined for the overseas market or had been discontinued. Most carried a warning that they should be used within 24 months of opening.

A Poundland spokesman said: "There is a bona fide relationship between Boots and our supplier to relabel products after removing the original label. On this occasion a mistake occurred."
