Pupils urged to bin litter

The West Lothian Community Safety Unit is taking on the task of bringing litter dropping to an end around a local high school.

The pilot "litter at lunchtime" scheme at Deans Community High School was launched to encourage pupils to dispose of their rubbish properly when visiting local shops during their breaks.

Constable Paul Kane from the West Lothian Community Safety Unit said: "We're trying to encourage the pupils to take responsibility for their local area, and to take pride in keeping it litter free."
