Pupils talk way to top

A debating team from Stewart's Melville College has successfully talked its way into the biggest schools debating tournament in Scotland, by making a case for bloggers and free newspapers.

Ruairdh Macintosh and Andrew Niven beat off competition from three other schools to secure a place in the finals of the Law Society of Scotland's Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament. Just four of the 16 teams in the semi-finals go through to the final in June.
