Pupils scoop green awards

A WETLAND bog and butterfly-friendly orchard are two of the winning school plans set to scoop eco awards at the Royal Botanic Garden today.

St David's RC Primary, Uni-Tots Nursery, St John's Primary, Bright Horizons Cramond, Dean Park Primary and Cowgate Under 5s will each receive a top prize of 500 as part of the council's BiodiverCity contest.

Education leader Councillor Marilyne MacLaren said: "Encouraging our young people to take an interest in their environment is crucial."
