Pupils ready to ask questions

THE man responsible for children's rights in Scotland is to visit Campie Primary School in Musselburgh to be questioned by pupils.

Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People Tam Baillie will speak with about 30 school children on Wednesday as part of national consultation A Right to Blether.

It is hoped hundreds more pupils will participate in the debate over the internet and quiz Mr Baillie on their rights.

The consultation will help identify 12 of the most challenging issues facing Scottish children, and is linked in with the 21st anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The top four issues will feature in a four-year work plan by the Commissioner's office.
