Pupils play it safe on roads

PUPILS from primary schools have been recruited to serve as junior road safety officers.

The pupils from schools across East Lothian and Midlothian met with police officers at two open days held at Port Seton Leisure Centre and Woodburn Primary School to learn more about their roles.

The aim of the scheme is to empower children to highlight road safety issues through raising awareness among other pupils, teachers and the wider community.
