Pupils pick MS charity

PUPILS at Edinburgh Academy have chosen St Columba's Hospice and Multiple Sclerosis (Scotland) to benefit from their charity fundraising this year.

Representatives of the charities were presented with cheques for 2000 each at a school assembly on Monday morning. The money was raised at a string of events ranging from cake sales to a carol concert and Christmas fair. There will be more fundraisers this term, including a talent contest and non-uniform day.

The charities were selected by the school's charities committee from a shortlist of 30.
