Pupils lay foundations for success with building win

A TEAM of ten pupils from Broxburn Academy in West Lothian has beaten off stiff competition to become the 2010 winner of the Construction and the Built Environment Challenge.

The S2 pupils, aged between 13 and 14, scooped the title following their performance in a series of activities at the Corn Exchange, which included assembling a garden shed, tiling a replica roof and solving plumbing and electrical challenges.

George Heriot's School came second and Balerno High pupils were third.
