Pupils hand out a lesson about Malawi

STENHOUSE Primary pupils Lucy Bruce and Sarah Porteous were helping external affairs minister Fiona Hyslop learn about their school's link-up with Malawi, ahead of her visit to the country.

Ms Hyslop flew out to Malawi yesterday to see first-hand the impact of Scottish Government-funded development projects.

Ahead of her journey, she wanted to find out about the local school's learning partnership with the Embangweni Primary School in Malawi, which has been running since 2000.

Ms Hyslop said: "I am keen to build on what has already been achieved to ensure that we continue to deliver change that has a real, positive impact."
