Pupils flock in to help centre mark birthday

LOCAL primary school children were helping the Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick to celebrate its tenth birthday in style.

Yester Primary School pupils Kathryn Neillans and Alan Mossetig, both 10, and Megan McKirdy and Katrina Hummell, both 11, joined in the celebrations at the centre on Friday.

The centre has gone from strength to strength since it was opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in May 2000.

More than 295,000 visitors have passed through its doors and the centre has contributed about 2 million a year to the local economy.
