Pupils flag up green success

Buckstone Primary Pupil Emma Anderson (centre) and all her friends were celebrating as they unveiled their school's new "eco flag" recently.

The flag was given to the school after it received "Eco Green Flag" status, and the whole school gathered to celebrate the achievement last Friday.

The pupils sang songs for parents, before the flag was raised on a specially created flagpole in the school grounds.

The school was awarded the Green Flag on August 26, after an assessor spent about three hours examining evidence and talking to the Eco Committee before touring the school and grounds.
