Pupils dig for history

ANIMAL bones, shells and a large piece of pre-historic pottery have been unearthed by primary school pupils sifting through a bronze and iron-age midden in East Lothian.

Pupils from Law Primary School’s primary five class sieved through buckets of soil at the partially-eroded midden at North Berwick Law to uncover clues to how their distant neighbours once lived.

Students from the National Museum of Scotland also helped out on the day.
