Punk ravers are rescued

SEVEN teenagers enjoying a "punk rave" on Cramond Island had to be rescued by a lifeboat crew when they became stranded after the tide came in.

Three boys and four girls, all aged 15, were rescued by South Queensferry Inshore Lifeboat at around 6.10am yesterday. Nobody was injured.

A spokesman for Forth Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre said: "Coastguard, police and lifeboat teams were aware of the rave and the potential for persons reporting they were cut off by the tide."

Meanwhile, two Italian students, both female, were also rescued from the island at around 4.15pm on Saturday after becoming stranded.
