Punctuality at airport soars

IMPROVED punctuality at Edinburgh airport saw more flights on time in the first three months of this year than at any time since 1998.

Despite disruption caused by heavy snow, 85 per cent of flights were within 15 minutes of their scheduled times.

A better performance by easyJet, the airport's biggest airline, was one factor in the improved statistics.

Airport managing director Kevin Brown said: "Punctuality has been a focus for my team and we're delighted we're getting better. We still have a way to go and our work is ongoing."
