Pubs 'being priced out of the market'

MORE pub closures are likely due to falling beer sales and rising rents, union leaders have warned.

The GMB said sales had "fallen off a cliff" last year, made worse by the VAT increase, adding that pubs were being priced out of the market. It said the difference between alcohol prices in pubs and supermarkets was wider than ever, and the government was doing little to help.
