Pub king on charity rally

Scottish philanthropist Garreth Wood is to take part in the world famous Gumball 3000 2011 rally in aid of charity.

Mr Wood, co-owner of the Signature Pub Group which owns Edinburgh pubs including The Golf Tavern, will cover 3000 miles across eight European countries in eight days.

He and co-driver Matthew Hays will drive from London to Istanbul in his Ferrari 599. Mr Wood will donate 1 per mile and hopes to raise 25,000 for the British Heart Foundation.
