A £4 million IT system is to be set up across four health boards to allow doctors to access the same "snapshot" of patient information.

The single-search system, known as a "clinical portal" will be available across the Lothian, Fife, Dumfries and Galloway and Borders NHS areas, covering more than a quarter of the Scottish population.
