£3k NHS aids handed back

AN amnesty held for patients who had held on to NHS equipment at home for too long has led to the return of items worth £3000.

The project in West Lothian allowed people to hand back equipment given to them by the health board without any penalty.

The West Lothian Community Equipment Store delivers more than 18,000 items to locals every year, allowing them to keep their independence and manage their own healthcare at home.

The majority of the stock is then recirculated to those who needed it.
