£3.6m lottery ticket unclaimed

TIME has run out for the holder of a winning lottery ticket, believed to be living in the Highlands.

A 3.6 million lottery jackpot will now be donated to charity after the mystery winner failed to come forward to claim the money.

The winning ticket was bought six months ago in Inverness, but despite appeals by the National Lottery, the prize has gone unclaimed.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money."
