£2.6m John Lewis revamp

WORK was due to start today on a £2.6 million refurbishment of the city's John Lewis store.

The revamp will create a new women's fashion and accessories department and a luxury fashion advice suite.

The branch refurbishment will also include a designer area, denim wall and contemporary fixtures for jewellery and accessories, plus an extended fitting room.

As part of the project, new women's brands will be added including NW3, Hudson Jeans, Aquascutum and Rene Derhy.

Barry Matheson, managing director, John Lewis Edinburgh said: "The Partners are really excited about the refurbishment.

"Our new departments will have different zones for designer, classic and contemporary collections, making the branch an even better and easier place in which to shop."

The fashion refurbishment follows work on the shop's beauty hall earlier this year.
