£100,000 of drugs seized in raids

Weekend drugs raids have uncovered more than £100,000 of illegal substances and led to two arrests, Strathclyde Police said yesterday.

About 52,000 worth of drugs, thought to be cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis, were found during a search of a house in Maryknowe Road, Motherwell, on Saturday. A 22-year-old man was arrested. A separate raid, in Sommervell Street, Cambuslang, uncovered about 160 cannabis plants, and police arrested a man aged 41..
